Work on your Lit Circle job

Find example words for week three roots. Begin your weekly work for your lit circles.

Make sure you have your work done for Lit circles!

Week two of Greek and Lating roots! Write an example word for each of the roots.

Complete your job for your lit circle group, you have a group meeting Friday! Also do not forget to study for your roots test on Tuesday!

Finish your assigned reading for the week for your Lit circles

Read your assign reading for your Lit circles, prepare for your roots test on Tuesday, January 22nd.

Choose a narrative song, and either copy or print out the lyrics. Write a paragraph explaining your opinion of the narrative's theme. The theme should reflect the lesson, or big idea the narrative represents.

Complete your Harry Potter cp. 14 Vocab...find the page in the book, as well as write out the definitions. Also work on your interview questions if you have a chance!

Test on Harry Potter chapters 6-10

Choose a topic: sports, video games, books, school, sixth grade, fashion, movies, music, TV shows

Brain storm ideas about your topic on a piece of paper, then use different colors to group them into categories by circling them

Research your propositions and candidates for your mock election tomorrow and to prepare for your essay

Begin thinking about and working on your outline of your Narrative project. You may go to pheemcfaddell.com to print out illustrations, or just look at the coloring pages for inspiration. Remember, your book is being written for Kinder-3rd grade, so keep it appropriate! Your story may be a fairy tale or a spooky story, and you will be meeting in your writing groups tomorrow and Friday!

Study your narrative vocabulary for your district assessment

You have a test on Harry Potter chapters 1-5, including the vocabulary!

Also, I will be grading your 3-ring notebooks! You will need to have the following:

grammar: grammar review, idiom project
Idea Magic file: 15 ideas and your flip book
HP Vocab: chapters 1-5
HP Character: character list, character profile
World of HP: magic/reality list

Read Chapter Four in Harry Potter...DO NOT READ AHEAD!!! If you are sitting in a row that is reading tomorrow, please practice your reading out loud, so that you are compelling.

Choose one word from you vocabulary list and write a spectacular sentence including the word and a context clue hinting at the word's meaning.

You need to come up with three ideas for your idea file. They can be interesting pictures, a story starter, a story ending, lyrics from a song, etc. Anything that could inspire you to write a story will go in this file.

Make sure you bring all your supplies to class!

You will need your Harry Potter books, 3 ring binders, History books, History spirals and History floppy books, as well as your glue sticks and colored pencils!

Set up your 3 ring Binder with dividers. The categories are: 1. Vocabulary
2. Grammar 3. H.P. Vocabulary 4. H.P. Character studies 5. World of H.P. 6. Idea Magic file
7. Narrative 8. Expository 9. Response to Lit. 10. Persuasion

Do not forget that you need to bring your copy of "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" on Monday!
