Please bring to class a large Ziploc bag. You will use it to protect your book and Post-It notes from damage and moisture. While a sealing plastic bag is preferred, you may also bring in any plastic bag that will fit your book and notes and that is reasonably waterproof.

Read and annotate for 30 minutes in Forge. As a reminder, you should use 1 color of Post-It notes for plot notes, another color for character notes, and a 3rd color for any questions you may have as you read. You must have a plot note for every chapter, and a character note for every new character introduced. (See the reading schedule sheet for a list of the important characters introduced in pages 1-46.)

Students in all classes will be writing a brief composition on their summer reading books on Tuesday. You may bring the book to class if you want to, but you do not have to. You should, however, refresh your memory on the names of the major characters and the story. You will be expected to demonstrate a thorough understanding of your novel.
